“an awesome feat of filmmaking” Time Out

Film Overview

Filmed on location in remotest Peru, this is regarded as one of the great cinematic accomplishments. A ruthless and ‘crazy’ Don Lope de Aguirre, Klaus Kinski, leads an expedition through the Amazon in search of Eldorado. As well as beautiful and dream like moments there are also quite thrilling sequences. Recently re-released, it is one of the All Time Great 100 Films.

“one of the great haunting visions of the cinema” Roger Ebert

Director: Werner Herzog, West Germany 1972, 92 mins, PG
